(Might not actually go into his presidency although I feel like I need to refer to him as President. I'm more interested in his role during the Civil War)
-Drank a lot when he was bored or missed his wife. This lead a lot to think he was a constant drunk and whenever he did or said something odd they would assume he was drinking again.
-Great friends with Sherman.
-He almost never got excited even when he was recieving good news. Had amazing focus and was strikingly clear headed no matter what the situation.
-I'm not going to even try to write a brief summary of what he did during the civil war at this time. There's no such thing as "brief" when talking about his role in the Civil War.
