Short Notes
-A highly agricultural based economy.
-When first formed as a state, sent out pamphlets to advertise the state giving false promises about fulfilling all newcomers dreams
-Origially settled largely by German Americans
-Currently the population is dwindling due to advances in technology that make farm families obsolete and push the children to go to the big city.
-SUPER HYPER and friendly, but extremely closed minded. He doesn't want to hear anyone's suggestions or do anything differently from how he's been doing it for years. Not very curious and likes sticking to the old routine even if it's dragging down his economy.
-Loves being around people and gets lonely when he sees them leave. He's a little bit clingy because of his loneliness.
-South Dakota is his twin.
-Dakota is the Sioux word that means friend or allies. (Named after the Dakota tribe)
-Gets along pretty well with Saskatchewan but is closer to Manitoba.
-During WWI he was part of the 34th Division but never saw combat because it was deployed so late in the war. When WWII began he was initially supposed to be part of the 34th Division again as the 164th Infantry Regiment, but he was reassigned before deployment. Instead he was sent to join Massachusetts (182nd Infantry Regiment) and Illinois (132nd Infantry Regiment) to become part of the new Americal Division (23rd Infantry Division). His was the first U.S. unit to to conduct an offensive operation in WWII (In either of the theaters)
